Love your Lids

Got this little contraption off Amazon.  Brilliant $8 if you ask me!  How do you currently get a lid from your pots and pans cupboard?

Clutter in the Shower

I totally jacked this from Pinterest but if you have one of those showers full of bottles and soaps and loufas, then this is the idea to jack...

A 2nd $10 shower rod and a $2 set of plastic "C" hooks can hold your loufas and anything with a handle to hang from.  I already had 2 wire baskets and just took out the old suction cups that NEVER worked! One basket holds Erik's body wash and bar of soap and the other holds my face cleaner and razor.  Sweeeeet......

I'm a Pinner

I got on Pinterest a few weeks ago just because everyone was raving about it.  Meh, I didn't "get it" until I got my 3rd weekly email from Pinterest...you know, the one that says "here's some crap we think you'd like, etc?"

On that 3rd email, I actually found something to click on.  A picture of a front-loading washer that said "front-loading washer maintenance".  Well, mine's been kinda musty lately, so I clicked.  Up came a bigger version of the same pic.  Nothing else.  WTF?  So I clicked on this bigger picture, and there was my first Pinterest article.  Some other housewife who was sharing her secrets.  Then my whole weekend changed.

I bought a tub of vinegar and followed her instructions, which then led to her link about homemade laundry detergent (it's simple, cheaper and good for the environment.  Why didn't I care before?).

Well, if you can make your own laundry detergent, what about dishwasher soap?  and all-purpose cleaner?  Wood cleaner?  Bathroom cleaner?  Did I mention my whole weekend changed?

I am now in a category of people who know what "castile" soap is AND how to make their own "citrus enzyme".

I love my homemade wood cleaner and soft scrub.  I'm learning to adjust to the dishwasher detergent since it requires me to pre-rinse our dirty dishes REALLY good before putting them in the dishwasher.  I've got my 1st batch of citrus enzyme and orange and lemon cleaners fermenting for the next 2 weeks.  All for the environment and pocket book right?

It took a few days for me to locate the liquid castile soap in our area, but now I'm ready to try out the laundry detergent as soon as I have a load ready.  Can you believe I've been waiting for 3 days now to accumulate enough clothes to wash?

After the cleaning frenzy came the organizing frenzy.  This changed my life:
Ok, I might be exagerating but it did clear out the cupboard under the kitchen sink and makes cleaning a lot easier!

From there I discovered the Bowl Full of Lemons blog that has the 21-Day organizing challenge.  That's a blog of it's own and my version is tabbed at the top of this blog.  I'm boldly sharing my messes and how I'm fixing them to all of you nice people who stumble on this page.  Or to my few family members who are subscribed to my posts.

To think, you all have this to blame:

HAPPY PINNING!

Chore Chart

Alan started a Chore Responsibility chart on Sunday.  His current chores are: Get Dressed, Feed Dex, Pick up Toys, Get Ready for Bed, No Whining, No Bad Language (We say No Potty Talk).  He gets a "smiley" magnet on his chart for each item he's successful with and at the end of the day, we count the smiley's and he gets 1 M&M for each one.

It has been awesome watching him pick up his toys and getting ready for bed a lot quicker!  When he grows out of M&Ms, we'll pay him quarters :)
